USP port enabling in laptop

In my office laptop which is Windows 8 is disabled USB port due to some security reasion. Now my supervisor told me make it enables.
How can I do that?

I think it's possible from the BIOS, but it depends from model to model.

Edit: In my BIOS, I believe it's called USB Controller. Check if you have something similar.
