UT2k4 TDM only Rankin map: server or client issue?

In the last 3-4 days I've noticed that no other map than DM-Rankin is
running on the majority of TDM servers (with the exception of 2 or 3
servers, who were then not always reachable), so I started asking myself a
pair of questions:
1) could it be my "unofficial" version of UT, though upgraded to v3270 and
"cured" (working fine on all servers for all these weeks before, too...)
recognized by master server and redirected not finding other servers than
the ones with Dm-Rankin
or
2) could the issue be on server side, meaning that all those servers are not
running an official version, so, after the last general upgrade to 3270,
they can only host the demo map online?
thanks everyone for the answers...
Alex

Awww, what a shame, poor little thief can't play the game that we had
to pay for.

I'm not a thief, I bought the original version of UT2k3,
the real shame is that Epic releases a simple upgrade of the game I've
*paid* for,
and, in less than one year, I find out that I've spend my 50 bucks for
nothing.
At least they could allow at a lower price an upgrade for those guys who
already owned 2k3...or am I wrong???
Now I was evaluating a copy of 2k4 backed up from a friend's copy,
the real question was: if I buy the original one, I can play an all servers
with all the other maps?
In Tdm mode, who's got the original 2k4 can find servers running the other
maps?
It's just a question, no need for cheap or easy moralism...
thanx

Which gives you the right to play UT2003, you have an illegal version
of UT2004.

They released a new game, it isn't a "simple upgrade".

UT2003 still works.

You are wrong, again.

Neither of those questions make sense.

You are a thief and expect something for nothing, you get all you
deserve.

Ale..::°::..Atorius enlightened us with:

Because you bought something doesn't make you not a thief.

> the real shame is that Epic releases a simple upgrade of the game

It's not a simple upgrade. Having said that, look at all those other
companies that sell you a simple upgrade for big bucks.

> and, in less than one year, I find out that I've spend my 50 bucks

If you didn't like UT2003, you should be nagging about the game not
being worth it's money. You shouldn't steal another game.

> At least they could allow at a lower price an upgrade for those guys

They did that in a lot of countries.

> It's just a question, no need for cheap or easy moralism...

I'm a programmer myself, and I know that I need food to survive, and
money to buy that food. If I want to give out something for free, I'll
release it as Open Source. For the rest: pay for it or don't use it.

Ok
Father, I admit, I committed an horrible sin through thought, word and deed
I repent so much
could you relieve my lost and damned soul?
or should I wander through cold and endless nights dragging chains and
pulling at your blankets?

joking apart, don't know if you keep on pretending not to understand or
you're really and irretrievably narrow-minded?
the question simply was:
IN THE LAST DAYS DO TDM SERVERS WORK FINE ON ALL OTHER MAP THAN DM-RANKIN?
Simple question directed to those who would like to help and to be helped
only.
All blatant boring useless moralists please refrain from answering.
Thank you all

Really, for nothing? You got no entertainment out of UT2k3?

About offering a discount? No, you're not wrong at all -- they were offering
$10 off at launch. However, since 2004 itself is now fairly old by gaming
standards, you can buy it for $30 w/o a discount. Fair? Of course, when a
new game comes out I suppose you will complain that you "wasted" the $30 as
well. So, I can't really help you there.

I can see plenty of maps. Incidentally, I think you are using the demo.
DM-Rankin is the only map available for the demo.
