[SOLVED] UV-C led in reservoir for sanitizing?

Solution
Depends on what you popped it into. UVC could be very damaging to plastics and rubbers and might lead to premature failure of something in the reservoir.

I've had no issues with a kills coil and a bit of biocide from Primochill over the years.

I would expect this is less effective than using a proper biocide addititive in the circulating liquid. Firstly, water itself is very good at absorbing UV light, so how much light intensity gets though the reservoir to the other side is questionable. Secondly, even if that works, it does NOT prevent growth anywhere else in the liquid circulation loop, whereas a biocide in the water will reach everywhere. I agree with Eximo above about risk of UV damage to other components.
