I've got an asus ux303u that wont turn on at all. About a year ago I had been using and gotten up to make some coffee, when I got back it was completely dead. No lights, sounds or anything.

Initially I thought it would probably be my charger but nope, that works perfectly on another laptop. So did some research and came across some people saying the cmos can have issues on these laptops. Replaced the cmos and no change. Started considering maybe the charging port itself has gone as I know that will cause similar issues but had no way to test it then so it got left collecting dust.

Started doing some more troubleshooting last night and noticed that while I have the charger plugged in the ram starts getting warm(didn't leave it to see how hot it would get). So swapped out the ram to see if that was it, still no change. Turns out its the ram soldered onto the board that's getting hot. Theres nothing obvious I could see on the board that would cause it.

I'm either thinking its just the ram on the board that's died or the board itself is dead but I've really got no way to tell. Anyone have a y suggestions to try get this laptop going again?

Welp, the CPUs getting hot too. Now I'm certain the boards dead. Stay away from asus products I guess. The laptop wasnt even two years old when it bricked itself. In the bin it goes! Not worth spending 600-800 on a replacement board
