- I won't need WiFi
- I plan on overclocking (but am currently a total noob)

GA-Z77X-UD5H ($180) http://www.microcenter.com/product/386359/GA-Z77X-UD5H_LGA_1155_Z77_ATX_Motherboard
vs
ASUS P8Z77- V Pro ($210) http://www.microcenter.com/product/386887/P8Z77-V_PRO_LGA_1155_Z77_ATX_Intel_Motherboard

I'm getting a microcenter deal on the CPU + mobo that will save me $70 (before shipping).
The price difference at MC is $30. I would pay for the ASUS, but I feel like I'd be getting more bang for my buck from the Gigabyte since I don't need WiFi.

The UD5H: has better audio (I believe) and a smoother UEFI for noobs like me (from what I've read)
The V-Pro: better name brand, WiFi, better fan control, 16 phase power design (whatever that means)

Anyone care to weigh in on these 2 motherboards?

Here is my (still unfinished) build btw:

what if I throw the Maximus V Gene into the mix?
http://www.microcenter.com/product/390655/Maximus_V_Gene_LGA_1155_Z77_mATX_Intel_Motherboard

I have read that it is supposed to be the best overclocker of the 3, and It seems like it has everything I want.
My only concern is that it is a mATX board. Is there any reason that I should stay away from this, or any other micro ATX mobo?

I am also thinking of changing the processor from the 3570k to a 2700k because MC has them on sale for $244. Would this change affect your choice of boards at all?

i wouldnt bother with the maximus line other than if you want the ultimate lan rig or if you just want the ultimate gaming motherboard (the formula line)

there is no difference between the i7 2700k and the 3570k in games. just that the i7 does a little better in most other tasks. i wouldnt change motherboard choice even if you throw this into the mix
