V-sync and the Overworked Graphics Card

I have a problem. You can see my PC's specifications at the left. That graphics card works super hard in simple games like LoL, DOTA, and Tome, among others, to pump hundreds of frames. The best is Tome: I'll get upwards of 400 FPS sometimes. The card will be running at 80C to manage four, five, or six times as many frames as I need. I turn on v-sync in the game (to slow down the frame production, and it works, card will run far under max frequency at 50C or so) and it stutters. I turn on v-sync with triple buffering the Nvidia control panel and it stutters. I cannot stand the stuttering. Tearing isn't so bad. But I don't want that card maxing out to provide many more frames than is needed.

What to do?

Solution
Since you have excess frames you want to get rid of, its time to turn up those graphics settings. Why don't you enable all your DSR settings and try to enable 4K gaming on those games where your FPS is in the hundreds?

I've read claims that using triple buffering while using v-sync can make for a smoother experience. I have tried adaptive v-sync and it's the same. Besides, there's no reason to need adaptive sync because it never drops below 60, so v-sync will always be on. I just tried setting a frame rate target in Precision X, and it seemed to work well (the card stayed relatively cool) until it stuttered.

A fine solution. If I'm going to have to have the card a little toasty to avoid annoying stutter then I might as well get some sweet eye candy out of it.

Thank you much!

i do heard about that but personally i never turn on triple buffering when using v-sync because i think it is smooth enough for me. and to be honest i'm a bit confuse with with triple buffering. i heard it only works with OpenGL based games and some said that triple buffing can make thing worse than it already is if the game does not properly supporting triple buffering. but in my experience so far it is rare for a game to stutter when v-sync being enabled unless there were problem with the game or drivers in general.
