V-Sync on/ V-sync off troubles

Hey guys, my first post here, and i didn't know what to put into the title of the thread, so i dedided to go for this. I've been looking around but i didn't find anything about it, so here's the question:

On fortnite (and also on other games) if i put the v-sync on (i have a 60hz monitor atm) the game is perfectly smooth, even if fps are capped to 60... well, 60 fps are very good, and the problem is not that. When i leave the v-sync on there is a input delay with the mouse (Playing on GeForce Now and playing on "normal" fortnite) so the problem is not geforce now only. If i put the v-sync off, i get like 200/300 fps (depends from settings obviously) and there's no input delay, so i can play more "competitive" but the problem is that the game is not smooth, it looks like i don't even get those 60 frames, even it it shows me 200/300... so, could anyone tell me how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Well, my pc is kinda good but on geforce now i think you don't need to use your pc resources, but here's the list anyways of my components:
i7 4770 3.4ghz
1060 6gb amp (zotac)
16 gb ram

If you're using the latest NVIDIA Display Driver (i.e. Version 417.71) there is a new Vertical sync setting named Adaptive.

• Adaptive - Limits the GPU render rate similar to VSYNC On, however if render rate drops below the refresh rate will allow tearing. Good compromise between latency and visual clarity.

The OP can easily lock to 60fps in fortnite, so vsync will always be on even when using adaptive, it wouldn't make any difference versus regular vsync in this case from what I understand. Fast sync should be a better option.

Should i leave vsync on or off ingame?

Leave it off in the game.

Nope, it didn't work. I just have a mouse input lag and the game still looks laggy

The game should still feel smooth with vsync off, you might get tearing but it should still feel smooth. I have no idea why the game would stutter or whatever it is doing at higher framerates with vsync off, that's not normal. A graph of cpu and gpu usage in game while playing with vsync off might tell me something.

Well, actually i'm playing on geforce now beta since i got banned from the "real" one because of a lua executor for another game running in background, so as you probably know on geforce now you don't use your pc specs
