I just bought a new Asus V9980 Utra card and put it in my system. I had a Ti4600 just for reference. Here are my system specs so you have an idea what im working with here.

Asus V9980 Ultra 8X AGP (PNY ti4600 old card

Asus P4T533 mobo (4X AGP only

Samsung RIMM4200 32bit rambus

Soundblaster Audigy MP3+

Alcatel Speedtouch USB ADSL modem

Pent 4 2.6ghz chip

500 watt power supply

Ok, when I use my ti4600 and load up any game and play online, all is well. But when I put the V9980 Ultra in and play, the modem looses sync, everytime, and resets. Put the ti4600 back in and its fine again. This is getting really frustrating because I cant find out why this is doing this. If anyone could help me figure this out I would forever be grateful to you all.

Thank you,

JJ

Try reinstalling (meaning completely wiping out as well) the nVidia drivers. Download driver cleaner to make sure you get a clean removal.

Maxtor disgraces the six letters that make Matrox.

Yes that is it. Also it tells me that there is not sufficiant power to run this card at full capacity so it will downgrade it to run lower so it wont damage any other system components. But I bought a 500 watt power supply just for this reason and it still comes up. That can not be right.
