I have used the Gigabyte M27Q a strong performing IPS monitor with a refresh of 170hz.
A Viewsonic XG270QC a 2020 Tom's hardware well reviewed VA panel that absolutely sucks for gaming due to the black level smearing and let's be real it was bad in all other areas too.
I now bought an MSI 325QCRF QD E2 which is advertised as a 0.5ms GTG Rapid VA and let me tell you, it's a huge step-up even over the M27Q personally let alone the Viewsonic.
This is amateur level testing as I am not RTINGS or a reviewer with actual hardware to test, however I calibrated the screen to 200 nits and 4700:1 contrast which is way better than the advertised 3500:1 contrast. And way darker than the Viewsonic and the M27Q can only do around 1100:1.
I chose an OLED test for this, the backlight becomes visible on cam when it is not in person.
Do note, this is zoomed into the screen at an unreasonable viewing distance and the trail for dark smearing is very small, the other zones have almost 0.
This is done with the fastest response setting on the screen and no MPRT.
How the screen looks much closer to the human eyesight.
Video of playing some Bioshock on this panel, not an issue hitting harder shots. The panel is exceptionally quick.
