Vaio crashed will not do anything

hi i have a sony vaio vgn-nr21m and it has crashed i have tried booting from recovery disc but it still wont work its coming up with system registry file is missing or corrupt any ideas greatly appreciated

If you are trying to do a full recovery, keep in mind it will wipe your drive.

So you did a recovery, did you do a full restore to factory defaults or run a Vista Repair? If you did a full recovery, did that message come up after everything was loaded right away or after you copied your files back?
