You might be experiencing a network problem and/or high average ping among other factors which can increase the lag while playing Valorant.
Whether you’re on WiFi or Ethernet, restarting your network is one of the simplest and fastest ways to solve a network problem. It will free up RAM on your router and renew your IP address, potentially resolving your high ping problem. This is how you do it:
- Unplug your router as well as your modem.
- After 60 seconds, reconnect them. Check that the indicator lights have returned to their original state.
- Start Valorant and see if your issue disappears.
You also can try
ExitLag. This application ensures a stable connection between you and the Valorant server in your region. Start your free trial with this

Some people often forget that their routers and PCs are turned on for months at a time without disabling them once. This builds up a lot of
temporary files between your PC and your internet connection, which slows it down and results in a network problem and high average ping in Valorant.
You can also try these 2 workarounds.
When the DNS cache memory starts to increase over time, lag spikes, and high ping in Valorant can occur. That's why you should
clear and flush the DNS cache memory. Open the Windows command prompt, and type the following command and press ENTER key. You should see a message confirming that the DNS Resolver Cache was successfully flushed.
ipconfig /flushdns
You can also try this workaround. Change the CPU core Affinity. To check or fix the issue:
- Launch Valorant, and minimize the game
- Open your Task Manager (by clicking CTRL+ALT+DEL keyboard keys)
- Select the "Processes" tab
- Right click Valorant, and then select "Go to details"
- Then Right click "VALORANT-WIN64-Shipping.exe", and select "Set Affinity"
- A window will pop up showing which CPU threads are currently enabled for Valorant. If they're ALL checked, this fix probably doesn't apply to you then. If there's only a couple checked off and everything else is unchecked? Check the box "<All Processors>", and click OK
- Repeat step #5 and 6, but on "VALORANT.exe"
