Hey guys. I was diggin through my friends warehouse the other day and
came across an electromechanical shooter called "Haunted House"

It is in fair condition with the best part being no water damage and
the worst part being some missing parts (A circuit board which I assume
is the sound BD) and possibly some other odds and ends. I have to
really climb inside it to check.

Problem is I can't find much of a actual writeup on google about them.
This would be my first EM and I would be buying it from a friend. We
both have no idea what it's worth and I want to be fair. Does anyone
remember anything about this game? How about a general value?

I would appreciate it.

I have owned 4 over the past 20 years and have seen a few for sale
from 150.00 up to 1200.00 for a home use game from a dist owner here in
NY. I think it's the more sought after of the Gun games for the theme
and play from Midway and has the 8 track sounds

I get an email a week of people that want to buy mine.
www.shootagainamusements.com/future.html
I bought mine for $400.... I've been offered $1400 for it... My Father
bought his for $600, my friend to bought his for $100 that's the range
I usually see them go for. As you probably already know it depends on
the condition.
Is it complete... is the witch and cat mechanism is there, how about
the motor speed control board? How is the glass? Is the cabinet
original or has it been painted?

Do you have any pictures of this game up ? It sounds interesting.

And as the original poster said, there doesn't seem to be much on it
out there.

There is a ton out there. It is famous and classic. But does not get good
money these days unless it is in real good condition (working, glass...)

Mine is not working 100% (Witch problem) but I have been piecing it together
over the years. I finally got the backglass last year. Marvin has some
good pics (http://www.marvin3m.com/arcade/haunted.htm).

You can even get repros of the 8-Track.

Man, do the memories come flooding back.
My mom used to shop at a store called Two Guys when I was a kid. They
had this machine, the Manta shooting game, a Stunt Cycle, the old
bombing game (Night Raiders?) and and a couple of old pins and
shuffleboards. First arcade games I ever played.

I love the EM stuff. Lots of character!

My father-in-law has a Haunted House. We picked it up about a year ago
for $300. It was nearly complete, but had a relay issue of some sort
and was missing the 8-track. If I'm not mistaken, it's still sitting in
his garage awaiting restoration. He's restored a number of these EM
things and tells me that the glass and the 8-track are the most
difficult items to find (which I believed until I saw the web link
above with the repro 8-tracks!).

The entire game soaked and crushed. It was rescued it from a warehouse
whose roof collapsed from water. It was the top game of 8 stacked sideways.
When they pulled the stack out from under the water logged roof it rolled
off the top.

The assembly for the witch & cat was crushed so I still have problems from
having to straighten the metal. I had to replace the back door that all the
relays were mounted on. I do not know if the wiring is %100 or if the
motors are any good. If anyone has the bottom assembly I would love to just
replace it. I gave up on the repair until I get a replacement glass. Now
that I have one I will try to continue the restore.

Also, if someone knows the actual color names or mixes I would appreciate
the help. I will send you a link to pictures of my restoration so far. I
do not want to make the site public due to bandwidth complaints.
