Hello everyone.
Well, originally I was just going to buy a new CPU to replace my Athlon x2 64 6000+ and call it a day. But after thinking it over, some of my friends want some of my hardware and the first thing that popped into my mind was that I can just build a new system. So my question is, is it worth it to buy a replacement for this system:
Gigabyte GA-MA69G-S3H (AM2 Motherboard)
AMD Athlon x2 64 6000+ @ 3Ghz (Stock Cooler)
1x2GB DDR2 800 + 2x1GB DDR2 667
CoolerMaster Elite RS-460-PSAP-J3
AMD Radeon HD6750 1GB GDDR5
Hitachi 1TB 7200RPM 32MB cache
And a cheap case with almost no space for fans.

The components that will be within my price range around Christmas are:
Asrock 970 PRO3/EXTREME 3 (PS: what are the differences? the PRO3 is about 15 euros cheaper than the EXTREME3)
AMD Phenom II x4 965 ( Cooler Master Hyper TX3 cooler to accompany it)
2x4GB DDR3 1333Mhz Kingston
Corsair CMPSU-600CXV2EU - 600W (nice to have a bit of headroom for OC'ing)
AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB GDDR5
(Same HDD, I won't be selling that)
CoolerMaster HAF912 value gaming case.

Is this config worth the 700 euros I will give for it? Since it will include me starving in school to be able to afford it ( :p ). Or should I spare up as much as I can until the end of the school year and see what I can afford then. Buying the rig above is also higher on my list due to the immense frame drops I get on big maps and firefights in Battlefield 3. Answers are appreciated, Thanks in advance :)

Well, the PII will be bought in like 2 months, and after that the rest of the stuff. Just because my Athlon really needs a replacement. :)

The plan right now is to buy the CPU/MOBO/RAM ASAP and then buy the rest. My 6000+ just needs a replacement, and like geekapproved said, they might not even be available at Christmas :)

The only similar priced Intel is the I3 2120. And I know that it performs as well as the 965, but the AMD sticker looks much better, and it OC's much better than the I3 :)

Already did a post about those 2, the 965 took all the votes. :)
