Hello,

I'm thinking about buying a Vantec NexStar 6G (NST-366S3) USB enclosure.
Should this support 4TB hard drives?
Is it possible to create a single 4TB partition?

I'm asking because I read about USB enclosures that support drives larger than 2TB, but work only with multiple partitions (perhaps each max. 2TB). In case of a Verbatim 3TB USB hard disk, I read that the problem could be solved with a custom tool, but I don't know about other brands, like Vantec.

Also, if the NexStar 6G supports a single 4TB partition, will I then be able to unmount the drive from the USB enclosure and read it normally with another (4TB compatible) enclosure, or by using it as an internal hard drive? Or do such kind of USB enclosures write data in strange/particular ways, on hard drives larger than 2TB?

Thanks.
