running windows 8.1. connected card reader to only available SATA port on motherboard.. the white port.
20 pin usb 3 connector on motherboard is smaller than the 20 pin connector on card reader.
HD audio pin on motherboard already taken.

My questions
does the card reader get its power from the usb 3 port? right now it has no power and computer cant find it with just the white SATA connection to motherboard.

I thought system requirements said windows 8 but now either they changed it or I was mistaken.
is this card reader windows 8.1 compatible? looks like this company should have a card reader for windows 8.1 by now.

if this card reader is good for my computer is there an adapter to be able to connect it to the motherboard?

if card reader no good for my set up can you recommend one?

also.. when I first built my computer someone posted me a link to a v cable and extenstion to connect the 2 front fans to one spot on the mohter board and the large top fat as well this case also has a rear fan so that I can have the mother board control my coolermaster storm troopers fans instead of the always on like I have it now.

According to the specs: "The USB 3.0 SuperSpeed not just enhance the speed of the USB
device connected to the front port, it is also link to the speedy memory card reader."

"20 pin usb 3 connector on motherboard is smaller than the 20 pin connector on card reader."
Can you post a picture of the Vantec USB connector?

first of all I want to thank you for your reply.

I am not sure what you mean in the first part.

I don't know how big the picture will come on this site so I also included a page that I have it on for a full size pic.
