I cast Sandstalker, equip the Wargear and attack.

At end of turn, return the Sandstalker to hand....

Question...

Does the Sandstalker die?

Thanks for input.

There is no Sandstalker... so it can't die.

By the time it would have to be sacrificed, it's already returned to
your hand. Therefore there's nothing to sacrifice; you're not forced to
discard it, or anything like that.

Well, it can't die if it isn't in play, can it? And by the time the Wargear's
triggered ability resolves after the Sandstalker is returned to your hand, the
Sandstalker isn't in play anymore. Thus, you can't sac it.

So this is a 7/4 Sandstalker - 4/2, and +3/+2 from the Wargear.

.... Why would it die? You didn't say anything about a 4-or-greater power
creature blocking it; you didn't say it got Fireballed for 4; nothing.

Assuming nothing has killed it yet, as End phase starts its ability triggers
and goes on the stack. Pass, pass; the ability resolves, and puts the VS into
your hand from play. This leaves the Wargear behind in play, unattached... and
triggers its ability. That ability goes onto the stack; pass, pass, and it
resolves. It can't find any creature that the Wargear is currently equipping,
so Does Nothing, and finishes resolving.

[The Wargear's ability isn't able to "track the card to wherever it went after
leaving play, and put it into the graveyard from that zone"; it doesn't SAY
it can do this. "Sacrifice" can only be done to permanents in play, also.]

You end up with an unattached Wargear in play, and a VS creature card in your
hand, ready for you to do this again on your next turn. [I'd also look into
using either multiple Wargear, since each gives the Sandstalker a separate
+3/+2, or adding Vulshok Gauntlets as well, since the Sandstalker is going
to leave play long before it would try to untap...]

What Sandstalker? the creature card in your hand named Viashino Sandstalker
has no reason to die. It doesn't even know it was grafted.

Once a permanent isremoved from the in-play zone, any effects waiting to
happen to it are forgotten, possibly countered (the distinction is important
for only one card, who can name it?).

I'm thinking it must be Multani's Presence.
