VBC.exe*32 is constantly running at 100% slowing my Windows 7 PC down Re-boot in safe mode not there, run in normal mode it starts up (no messages or anything). Can't see anything in MSCONFIG that relates to this. Can't stop the process as it starts immediately again.it is located in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727 so looks genuine. Can't rename the exe file(Says i need permission from trustedinstaller to do this).

If i set the affinty to 1 CPU then it drops to 25% with 3 cpus Ok but one running at 100%

I don't use Visual basic and wasn't doing anything before hand which I can think of at the time which might be connected with this. Any ideas

Well, made some progress.

After changing the ower and permissions of the EXE file, I was able to rename it to DUFF_VBC.EXE.

Rebooted the PC only to discovber now a file called CVTRES.EXE was now maxing out my PC....grrr ! Again, changed the owner to me and then the permissions and I was able to re-name that file.

Now all appears to be fine. Not sure what the side effects I will have from renameing those files, but i am sure I will find out soon

If anyone could give any infomation on this i would appreciate it as I dislike renaming files without knowing what they do.

Thanks
