Good Day,
has anyone tried updating the ZOTAC GTX 1060 Mini's vBIOS. I hope that flashing the vBIOS will solve my thermal issues when playing Warzone.
My GPU has a Samsung GDDR5 Memory.... and from i observed lately.. some Zotac GTX 1060 Minis that are made in 2017 have Micron memory.

My current vBIOS is 86.06.0E.00.0E (first release).
the vBIOS i like to update to is 86.06.45.00.C3 (the latest verified BIOS in 2017).

the vBIOS i mentioned are all in the techpowerup gpu vbios database.

thanks

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Before looking at your GPU, have you tried ruling out that the case airflow might need adjustments for improving temps? Speaking of temps, what sort of temps are you seeing? Use HWMonitor to verify your temps. On that route, what are your ambient room air temps? Make and model of your chassis and it's airflow(fan orientation)?

Reason I'm looking away from a VBIOS update is that if you don't have a replacement GPU in this current state of affairs in the world, best leave it be since there's a chance you're going to end up with a paper weight instead of a cooler running discrete GPU.

You could also look at replacing thermal pads with higher quality pads and a better quality thermal paste on the GPU.

Thank for the reply.
-the temps im getting is 79-81 degrees . i got it from the COD warzone: gpu temp counter. i already taken off the Case's Tempered Glass front panel ( maybe i might need to to remode the side panel cover tempered glass
- ambient temps ais typical asian summer setting. around 32 degrees celcius.
-my chassis is a Rakk Hawani Case ( 3 fans intake in the front... 2 fans out take on the top. and one fan out take near the io shield.
  • i appreciate the concern ... i cant upgrade to a current gen GPU bec of the prices. 🙁 i hope this GPU can run BF2042
  • i ran out of things to do to optimize and extend the service of my GPU... spraying non-conductive Contact Cleaner fluid and a GD007 thermal paste. i have not tried the thermal pads yet...

update: i replaced the thermal pads in my zotac gtx 1060 mini 6GB.. the thermals improved.. and it never reaches 81-83 degrees... it stays around 77-80 degrees now
