So I followed Der8auer's guide whilst overclocking my 8086k on a Maximus X board:

After setting "AI overclock Tuner" in BIOS to XMP and rebooting, the board automatically set VCCIO to around 1.34 V, which seems very high. My RAM is only 3000 MHz with 15-17-17-35 timing. In the video above at 8:11 you can see that Der8auer's board defaults to 1.232 V. Is it even safe to leave it on auto and just have to board go as high as it wants to? How high can you really set VCCIO without long term issues?

For now I have manually turned it down to 1.10 V.

1.15v is fine if it's needed in your case. Although argued in the forums, it seems 1.25v VCCIO is about the max. No reason to be worried at 1.15v I would think. Also using LLC6 setting myself. IMC voltage can vary depending on IMC quality. This is why XMP sets things on the high side to compensate. Actual Vcore for CPU is fine.
Should need a much lower voltage. Though I'm using 8700k with same board(AC version), I'm running 3200 with VCCIO at 1.05v and VCCSA at 1.15v. Stock is .95v and 1.05v respectively. Been this way since since about a month from launch of Coffee Lake 8th Gen. I believe XMP set around 1.2v for both, but I lowered manually. Ran all the usual tests to verify.

Hi,
So I ran Prime95 v26.6 (which is non-AVX workload) with these settings:

Min FFT size: 8 K
Max FFT size: 64 K
Memory to use: 10240 MB (I have 16GB in total)

VCCIO at anything below 1.15 V would just be unstable and BSOD in about 10 minutes. Should I be worried? I'm only pushing 5 GHz with 1.25 V on Vcore and level 6 LLC, which gives me 1.248 V Vcore under full load. For an 8086k this shouldn't be too stressful. Do I have a bad memory controller on my CPU?
