basically i'm trying to OC my q9300, on a asus maximus formula. So far Ive rased the FSB to 380, so thats a speed of 2.8GHZ. However, I noticed something odd, when trying to raise the VCORE it wouldnt go higher than 1.15. Even when set on manual. I wanted a VCORE of around 1.19, but for some reason it wont let me. Any ideas?
Thanks

What do you mean it won't let you? Like you physically won't let you select that vcore or when you read the vcore in windows it doesn't read as 1.19?

Basically when I set the VCORE in Bios to anything, it reads much lower in windows. Even if I check it in BIOS its far lower than my setting.

What is happening is called vdroop, it is normal and natural. If you are experiencing vdroop ask forum members about raising your vcore more.

Rasing your vcore is not for everyone, possible side effects are:
- Increased temps.
- Reduced proc longevity
- Hives

If you are experiencing proc instability, remember to raise your vcore.
