Hi guys, got a Corsair 750M PSU that came with 2 x PCIe cables each with a split for 2 x 6:2 pin connectors. Should i use both the cables or just one cable with two 6:2 pin connectors for a Vega 64? Many thanks.
If this is the PSU you're talking about, then use treat each cable off the PSU as one connector to the GPU meaning don't daisy chain from the first connector(use both cables).

Yep the PSU. I find it hard to explain but there are two separate PCIe cables provided with the PSU. Each of these cables has two 6.2 Pin heads.
:??? Because you didn't include it, I linked the CX PSU's model and you say yes. Then I linked CX unit's wires...now you say it's a TX series PSU, sigh.
Use just one cable with the two 6+2 heads for cleaner cable management.
A psu with such an arrangement is capable of powering both 8 pin connectors from the same cable.

Okay, thats interesting. Two contrasting opinions. Ive heard one cable can sometimes not be enough? Any ideas? I dont plan to OC.
I have the MSI Vega 64 which is slightly factory overclocked. And I can tell you from personal experience that 2 separate cables are absolutely necessary! The GPU will seem to work okay until it is under load with one cable.
Add a 2nd cable... Done.... profit.
I had a GTX 1060 6gb OC card with one cable... worked fine. The I recently purchased a Vega 64 and installed the same way.... one cable. It seemed to work fine until under load... then I had issues. Installed the 2nd PCie power supply cable... have not had issues since.
Warning for anyone doing the same... Could be another problem, but I thought I would try this on a newly built pc.
So I used one cable with two heads to power the gpu. Figured the load would not be a lot. My monitor turned on, the gpu was on but no display. I turned my monitor off.... and it died. It's a low spec monitor but still annoying. used two cables and it worked with an older monitor.
