Vegas 5 + DVD question

I purchased Vegas 4 + DVD from Sony and also got a free upgrade to
Vegas 5 + DVD...when the Vegas 4 order showed up Sony made a mistake
and did not send the + DVD version... I called customer support and
told them I had ordered Vegas 4 + DVD and only got the regular Vegas
4... customer support looked up the order and realized a mistake was
made... support asked if I would like Vegas 5 + DVD instead - so I
said sure....
So now I have Vegas 4, the free upgrade to Vegas 5 + DVD, and another
retail boxed version of Vegas 5 + DVD...
Can I give or sell the boxed version of Vegas 5 + DVD since it was not
opened ? I assume that since it has not been registered that it can be
passed along...

Thanks,
Glenn

Since it didn't cost you anything, why not give it to someone? The karma
will come back to ya.

I would keep the Vegas 5 + DVD and give away the 4 + the upgrade to someone
who needs it, like me hehe.. You got a break because they made a mistake.
I would sell it on ebay or something, or give it to me. I'll pay the
shipping! I'm joking of course. :) (well, not really) :-D

Actually, I ended up with one copy of Vegas 4 and two copies of Vegas
5 + DVD... I was sent the free upgrade to Vegas 5 + DVD before the
mistake as made with the ver. 4...so rather then just send out the +
DVD part of Vegas 4 the customer service rep said she would just send
out Vegas 5 + DVD... I said ok...

Hi Glenn,

How much would you want for your Vegas 5+ DVD?

I work in a college multi-media lab and we are struggling to find the money
for the upgrade...

Glenn - It depends if you pirate software or not. What Sony has done
is NOT to give you free copies of VEGAS, they simply want to be sure
you got_what_you_paid_for. If you ask them they will likely tell you
to discard the extra copies. If you sell them or even give them away,
that would be piracy.

Glenn,

Would you consider selling the 4 to 5+DVD upgrade instead? If so, how much?

Keep in mind that the Vegas 5 academic price is $179 and the +DVD
version is $270.

If you don't need the very latest version, you can get Vegas 4 for $150.

These are academic pricing from Sony's authorized dealers.

Otherwise, a trip to ebay.com may dig up a bargain -- 3 & 4 have
been seen for ~$100 or so in the past couple of months.

I think Glenn is going to try and make some money off of this situation,
unfortunately. As the saying goes... what goes around, comes around.
