I am new to video editing and want to start editing videos of my sports
teams as training videos and putting them onto dvd.

I have been reading a lot of the posts in this new group and have decide on
a new system to achieve this.
I have also become very interested in Vegas, the other posts seem to suggest
it will be out very soon. Does anyone have an accurate date?
I am UK based, otherwise I would have bought Vegas 4.0+DVD (seen for $499)
and then used the free upgrade option but apparently this is only available
to US customers.
Any suggestions? I'm not in a rush but I don't want to pay more than I have
to and I assume Vegas 5 will come out at full price ($1000)

The release of Vegas 5 is scheduled for NAB in Las Vegas, being held April
17-22.
As far as the free upgrade option being available only for US customers, I'd
check directly with Sony on that. I see no reason why it wouldn't be
available for you. I see no country restrictions at
http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/rebates/vegas.asp where you can apply
for the offer.
As far as the release price (and new features, for that matter) is
concerned, you'll just have to wait along with the rest of us until NAB.

They don't know the difference usually, i've bought many things like
this with no mention of UK/European shipping etc, but i fill my
details in and it goes smoothly enough.
