Question Veracrypt EFI option editing

I've found a minor annoyance with Veracrypt. Sometimes my laptop will turn on in my bag. When this happens it goes straight to the Veracrypt password prompt on boot. The problem is if I'm not aware it is doing this. It will sit there, turned on, draining my battery. As the prompt occurs before the OS has loaded there are no sleep settings.

What I am curious about is if there is a timeout I can set in the EFI settings in bootmgfw.efi. So that after a set period of time with no password entry. The computer will give up and sleep or shutdown.

Store it with the power on button so that it is less likely to be depressed while stored in the bag/backpack? tape a piece of hard plastic around it...or even a few of those cushioning foot 'corn' protectors, essentially making your power button 'recessed'...

As your password menu within Veracrypt is pre-OS, there can't really be any power-saving entity/app to step in to save your battery.
