Verbatim 500 GB Portable HDD won't turn on!

it's an old type i guess, but i've extremly important stuff on it. i know i should have not put anything important on it, but i needed to transfer....

is there anwayy i can do anything to turn it on ....there are so important stuff of mine inside it...
it won't even show the light or even spin its dead ....
im dying right now !!

Hey closser. First I'd suggest that you try the drive with a different USB cable (not longer than 12") in case this one has become faulty. Try it with another computer as well just in case. Other than that if it looks like it's completely dead and you know that the drive is out of warranty you have two options - a data recovery company, or try to take the drive out of the enclosure and connect it directly to your motherboard to see if it will run, because the reason for that might be a faulty external enclosure. If you decide to try this, it is very important that you first check if that model has hardware encryption and if it does, don't try it because you want be able to retrieve the data, also this will void the warranty (if it...

Hello Boogieman thank you so much for ur answer, i've tried it with different cable/ or pc.
I've taken the drive out already (since it's out of warranty), but idk how do i connect it directly to my motherboard, and how do i know if it has hardware encryption, thank you
 
Hey Boogieman i just wanted to let u know that i fixed it 😀! I went to a local computer service repair shop and i replaced a part where the usb cabble connects and its all okay now thank you so much for your help tho.
