Verifying parts and gpu

I recently upgraded my pc without much knowledge on the components and the upgrade was done by a shop owner of a computer shop. He told me that 8gb of ram is definatly enough and that the gpu is going to work well as well.

i7 7700k
GTX 1050 2gb
8gb ram 2400MHz
Gigabyte B250M Gaming 3 motherboard

I didn't know much about those components so I trusted the guy to give me something that works, but I checked that the gpu isnt good enough for a powerful cpu like this one. I want to get a GTX 1070 but I don't know if it will work with the motherboard or any other parts

You should either get an i7-7700(non K or move for a Z270 chipset motherboard). You should also be looking at DDR4-3200MHz rams if you move for the i7-7700K and Z270 chiposet motherboard. If you drop your processor to the i7-7700, the rest of the parts will remain as is. Could you define what you mean by this...

You didn't mention your PSU's make and model. Where are you located and how much are you spending on all of them?

The gpu is bottlenecking the cpu, thats why I need a gtx 1070 and my PSU is a Corsair CX750M
I would rather stay with the i7 7700k but i would need to wait to get the budget for a Z270 and ram if i was to buy the 1070
I spent around £600 including the motherboard, cpu, gpu, cooling and 8gb ram
