Hello Forum,

I need help with my networking setup.
I have Verizon Fios Actiontech MI424WR with ASUS RT N66U router.

The N66U only seems to work as in AP mode.
When I try to make it run as "Wireless route mode" I am not able to access the internet or anything for that matter.

I am no networking expert and learning as I go....

I am aware of another method of connecting the N66U directly to ONT, but I would like to keep that option last as I need to route cables.

Are there any setup ways for me to to use the "Features" of N66U?
I would like the N66U to handle DHCP requests as well as DDNS features?

Thank you,

I am using the asus 66u as an AP now.
I don't want to use it as AP, using the ASUS as an AP will limit me from using the other features on the router.
Right now I am having problem routing the router to the modem. The router does not get any connection.

The best solution would be to have Verizon come back to your house and wire the ethernet directly into your home (no regular cable line) - this installation will make it so you can't install their TV or Phone service (you can get VOIP from multiple different vendors) - but you can use your ASUS router to do everything.

I was saving that as my last resort, you necessary need the technician to come over and do the cabling for you.
You can route the cables from the ONT to the router, then give Verizon a call and ask them NICELY to switch from coax to ONT.

Anyways I have got a solution to my problem.

From the actiontec router (Advanced-->Routing) add the route to the ASUS router.
That worked for me.
Thanks for all the inputs!
