Vertex 2 died, was it my fault?

I had a 64gb Vertex2 running my OS, and have storage on two other HDD drives. I was running in IDE not AHCI.

Everything has worked fine for roughly 6 months ( with I think one occassion where the drive disappeared then reappeared after a few reboots ).

I've got a new 120gb Crucial m4 on the way, and I wanted to make sure I do everything I can to avoid having this happen again. Any tips to point me in the right direction would be appreciated.

This is on a P5Q pro turbo btw.

Also, sorry for being kind of short. I'm traveling and don't have a lot of time. I'll have more tonight when I get home.

well unless you're doing something like getting all statically charged up and touching your pc to watch the spark I wouldnt say its your fault. LoL

HDD's die, PC's die, and SSD's seem to die even more frequently. Enjoy your new drive.
