Vertex 4 Black screen blinking cursor, moved from p55 motherboard to z87

My OCZ Vertex 4 has had windows 7 installed on it for about a year. today i got a new asus z87-A motherboard with matching i7 4770k processor. After setting everything up and plugging in the SSD im stuck on the black screen right after the bios option. Im updated to the newest firmware on the SSD, i was looking to stay away from reinstalling but i need to get this machine up and running.

Has anyone had any experience with this issue?

You can't move a O/S drive (SSD or HDD) from one chipset to another and expect it to work.
Your drive has P55 drivers on it and is not compatible with Z87 chipset.

See if you can boot into Windows Safe Mode. If you can, then install your Z87 motherboard drivers, and see if that will solve your problem.

If that doesn't work then your only option is to do a clean install.
