Vertical 5.25" Optical Drive

Hello folks.

A few months ago I purchased a Corsair Air 540 case. It's a wonderful case with a solid design save for one complaint of mine.

There are two 5.25" drive bays in the front, but their orientation is vertical. This is an issue for me because I cannot find any suitable CD/DVD/Blu-Ray drives that have the push-in disc clamp in the center of the tray, like a laptop or slim drive would.

What are my options? Are there adapters or any standard 5.25" drives that will work in a vertical environment?

Thanks Tom's community.

Most CD/DVD drives have small tabs that keep the CD upright in vertical orientation, in fact I don't think I've seen one that doesn't. They aren't as secure as the laptop/compact drives with the compression clamp in the center but they do work when vertical. I too have the Corsair Air 540, hope this helps.

Have you ever damaged a disc in your 540?

I have not, but I have only owned the 540 for about a month and don't use discs often.
