Vertical DVD Rom. Can they play Mini-CD?

Hi people. I'm building a system for someone based on the Corsair 540 Air case. It's got two vertical bays. Can anyone suggest a DVD Rom that will play those Mini-CD's you occasionally get for drivers. I just don't want to get a phone call saying it doesn't work. I've never dealt with vertical bays before

Solution
I don't think there is one honestly. Not for the mini cd's, I know what you're referring to. Usually they rest in a small area shaped for them when a drive is mounted horizontally, but there are no retention slots that far in. Many will have very short 'tabs' that will create a tiny groove for full sized discs to rest in for a vertical mounted drive. The solution if the person really wants the 540 air and needs drivers that come on a mini disc is to instead go to the manufacturer's website and download the drivers. Far easier than the other option which is to use a different system with a horizontal drive, copy the mini disc, transfer it to a full size cd and then use it that way - or opting for a usb external cd/dvd rom.

Not that I know of, no. A slot loader wouldn't have a way to center the mini disc for the spindle to engage it where a full size disc barely fits so it self aligns. It may not be a big deal, I think I've only had a couple of things that came with a mini disc for drivers and you don't load those often. Unless they work with mini discs a lot, then it might be a different story.

Alright. Appreciate the response. I just tell them no Mini's. I got to thinking of this because there are a couple Mini's sitting on my desk. They are driver disks for SD card reader/USB 3.0 for PC and MP3 player. One is also for X-Box controller receiver. I'll just tell them if they encounter mini to hit manufacture website. Probably best that way anyway. Thanks synphul
