Vertical tearing

I'm having vertical tearing issues (vertical, not horizontal) and this is something I've never seen before, I'm wondering what is going on, any information?
GPU is fairly new, but not out of the box new, 6 months maybe, Monitor however is more like 6 years old lol

What games? FULL specs?
Tried turning ON/OFF V-Sync? Try another monitor?

I've yet to try another monitor, It's only happened recently, and I've noticed it in Vindictus (I'm bored waiting for Battlefield 3)

3 GB sorry no clue what RAM
Phenom I x3 8450 2.1 Ghz
1TB WD Caviar Green 7200 RPM
ATI Radeon HD 5850 2GB
1440x900 Samsung monitor 75hz
It is a mix of tearing/frames drawing verrrry slowly, like part of a frame is left behind for a fraction of a second under a newly drawn frame, very rarely, although a couple times within this night.

Just changed CCC to force VSync on Triple Buffered. I believe application was set off

Oh sorry, not full specs at all, my Processor is coming in the mail I'm practically struggling to play some CPU Intensive games hahaha

Only happened on game?
Then try another monitor first, see whether the tearing is still there or not...
Also, try defaulting all card setting on CCC.

I'll switch out the monitor, but just because I'm curious, could this be due to a CPU that's slowly dying? I've noticed everything slowing down a lot lately, I have about 500GB of HDD Space so I know it's not, I also did a memory diagnostic, said I was fine, CPU's old as hell and outdated.

Umm, you can check CPU temps, it could be an overheating... It could be anything, but usually, vertical tearing is GPU related.

I have a front panel, CPU Stays at 30-35, son of a bitch this thing is basically new lol

Post again here when you done switching monitor...
Or, you can borrow card from a friend, If the problem disappear then your GPU might dying. Also if this only happen on just 1 game then the game itself is in trouble.

I think it was the CPU slowing down, I replaced those parts I ordered and now I haven't seen it, on my other monitor either when I was dual monitoring, thank you though.
