Hi all!

I am looking for a motherboard for a later (2018/2019) build I am doing. Money will not be an issue.
This is because I want to make a complete new pc for when Volta releases and we have a 980ti/1080ti variant of that architecture.

Of course I know that in a few years more boards will be released but I am just curious on what is right now the best for my several needs because I am making it in 3d modelling software.

My needs would be for the board:

-Good overclocking.
-I will watercool the chipset and the vram of the board myself with blocks, so no need for already watercooling ready boards.
-RGB lightning is a must! If it has rgb on the dimm slots of the ram it would be even better.
-If the board is already white that is a bonus, otherwise I will paint/mod it myself :)

I know many people here ask for this but I could not find a good board still. With google I usually get "best budget" stuff...

You won't be buying a z270 board if you want a top end build in 2018 most likely. It'll be a z370 or something. And a 1600/1700 ryzen would likely outperform a 7700k in your modeling tasks for less anyway. If budget isn't a concern for you get a 6900k/6950x or the 7000 varriants that will be released in a few weeks most likely

First off, thanks for commenting. Hm, You think the successor of the z270 will already be sold then? Fair enough,
Although I still would love to know what the best board is at this very moment for my model...

As for the Ryzen stuff, I do thing Ryzen is good but I will not get such chip. I am modeling right now on my pc and work fine with my overclocked 6700k. But, do note this new build will not be for modeling or anything like that. It will purely be a gaming pc. I will use my other pc for multithreaded applications like rendering and adobe. So no Ryzen chip will be installed here.

I know about the 6950x but that is only for the x99 platform will will not be for this build. For the build in question I prefer doing with the z platform.
I am also working for a desk pc out of old log wood for a workstation and that one will be on a x99 base.

No offense but I did state this: "Of course I know that in a few years more boards will be released but I am just curious on what is right now the best for my several needs"

So yeah I would love to know what is the very best at this moment
I would love to hear your opinion on what you think is awesome :)

Yeah I have seen this board many times. I love Asus and frankly it is a very good board for overclocking. If would get this I would take of that watercooling block for the vram. It just will not fit my build since I will be using clear blocks.
Money will really not be an issue. I have been saving already for quite some time and still am. Considering I also want to have 2 of the 1080ti/980ti versions of the Volta architecture it will be fairly costly. Not to mention some special theme I am keeping.

But back to the Mobo. This one does not have lighted sockets for the ram right? Just checking. It really would be an awesome bonus.

the only motherboards i have seen that have LED's on the ram slots are gigabyte Aorus boards. aorus is gigabytes gaming line

Yeah, I have seen this one as well. It looks immensely pretty to me. Especially considering I will also have chromed sided ram in my build. It would look really shiny.
Hope more boards well have this. This one although is not the best board ever really did pick my attention. It's even white.
