Very delicate hard drive cables?

Im buying a new Motherboard and i was playing with my current one just making sure the cables were all good and everything was nice and neat. I decided to pull out my hard drive real fast and put it back in but my computer wouldn't start... wouldn't even turn on fans. I kept trying and i got scared actually so i pressed it in a little harder and it just started right up. I tapped it a bit and it turned back off again. I found the right position and it isn't turned off yet but does it supposed to be that loose? It dosent feel very secure. Any ideas?

I would leave it alone. I messed with an ssd port too much and it died.

Pressed on the board or drive? Older sata cables won't lock in place, but most newer ones will. It's either locked or not. From my own experience, once it works, I wouldn't mess with it anymore.
