I just realised, that my big CRT is getting really hot to the touch. Its almost 60C on the top side so I guess it's really hot on the inside. Room temp is about 35C. Is that normal, or should I consider placing a fan next to it?

i'm sure that your crt would serve a purpose as a boat anchor, and i'm sure it would stay cool at the bottom of a lake. as for the replacement i think an lcd would stay cool and look much better. if you cant afford one then forget all i just said. i dont think its that big of a deal, but if there becomes a problem then a fan would probably help a little bit.

Hey dude,
Crt's have a heating element inside of them to keep the cathode hot, so thats why it takes like 3 seconds for your screen to turn on. If its to hot then get a newer CRT that won't get so hot!
