Hi,

First, heres my setup:
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti OC 11GB (ASUS ROG STRIX)
  • AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 16-Core
  • x4 Corsair DDR4 @ 3200 MHz
  • EVGA Supernova 1000 T2, 80+ Titanium 1000W
  • WIndows 10 64-bit
  • x3 Asus VG248QE 24" Full HD 1920x1080 144Hz Monitors
Pieced this together 2 months ago and I feel like my card isn't really pulling its weight anymore these past few days. After obtaining 3D Mark and running the first Time Spy test, I am a little worried that I have a dud or if the latest driver patch is what brought it down on its knees. Maybe even my monitors aren't up-to-speed?

Here is my current 3D Mark Score...wasn't too happy with the results and after looking at what it should be, I am somewhat confused:

RTX 2080TI 3D Benchmark comparison:
https://benchmarks.ul.com/hardware/...64.847899997.1593382311-1137474154.1593382311

Can I get some pointers on what I did or continuing to do wrong when I put this beast together? Is the card a dud, bad driver update or something else I missed. Any help would be great as I am trying to solidify this computer for video editing/high-end gaming.

Thanks,
Oryx

Try downloading evga precision to tune your card. I havent liked tuning with afterburner since the gtx 580 years.

The biggest thing with these cards is keeping them cool.

Also check your cooler to make sure it fully mounted, i know asus had issues with amd cards with the coolers sagging of the card because they didnt have the right screw tension.

What I noticed:
-gpu clock speeds are low: the highest recorded was 1875mhz, with an average of 1351mhz - basically base frequency
-max gpu temp was 76C
-memory frequency at 2133mhz

Possible gpu throttling? 1900mhz+ is usually pretty easy for these cards to hit - yours gave up before that.
Use Display Driver Uninstaller and try the previous driver?

Hey Phaaze,

Yeah I reverted the driver back to the previous one and I am still seeing the same results. Some where along the line its being throttled. I haven't OC'ed my GPU yet but I am close to pushing for that. Didn't think I would need it. Do you recommend anything else?

heres my speccy if it helps:

The 2080 TI's will voltage and thermal throttle itself. If you just leave the voltage stock it will up the clock speed till it hits the 100% voltage usage or throttle because of temps.

The cooler you keep the card the more it will push till the power limit. My card at 100% voltage will almost hit 2000Mhz if temps are kept in check. @ 116% voltage it will do almost 2200Mhz

So I just tried OCing my GPU using Afterburner, kombustor and this link:

Basic OCing video helped alot but I noticed something.

While is was testing through Afterburner my base clock freq was 1350mhz, even as I increased the Core Clock speed, it would rise but always drop back down to 1350mhz. It kept doing this over and over, jumping back and forth.

So, when I tried the OC scanner it failed at step 3 and brought my screen to black. Had to restart my PC.

I am at a loss of words don't really know what to do. Something is throttling my GPU and now it seems I can't even OC it with Afterburner nor GPU Tweak II.
