[SOLVED] very low and scratchy audio with Bluetooth headset

I have these Bluetooth 4.1 headphones.
However, I only have this extremely old and cheap 2.0 Bluetooth dongle to connect it via PC.
It does work, however, the audio is low and really scratchy and just plain awful, is it 100% because of the cheap dongle? because the 4.1 dongles are almost the same price, so idk if there will a difference?

You might want to see if the headphones you're currently working with has any issue if paired to a smart phone that has BT4.o or higher. That way you can rule out if the headset is at fault or if you replacing the BT module on your desktop/laptop will change your experience.

You could try making sure your system is on the latest BIOS update, on the latest OS version (20H2 for Windows 10) and that you're on the latest drivers for your BT adapter(or reinstall the drivers for the device).

Yes low end bluetooth devices have poor audio performance. You would want a 4.1 or higher bluetooth adapter.
