I have run 3Dmark2003 and 3Dmark2001SE, the scores were very low. I have got a PIV1.8ghz, 768MB DDR PC2100 and a CLUB3D ATI RADEON 9800. Mainbord is an ASUS P4S533-E with a SIS645DX chipset. Mainbord supports up to 4x AGP.
I have no idea what should be so wrong

Newest IDE and AGP drivers are installed. I have tried ATI and OMEGA drivers. There is nearly no difference between them. Hopefully someone cna help me! Thanks in advance!

In the ATI control panel under D3D, turn off vsync, and turn anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering to "application preference". 03 you should get 5000ish, 01 you should get at least 14000ish. Close any resource hogs running in the background. Oh, and overclock everything!

If this dosn't get you at least close to the scores I've mentioned, well then, I'd shove a stick of dynomite up my ass and kill myself.

SIGNATURE: Stop asking people "whats up" or "hows it goin", you know you don't give a sh*t. And noone cares how you're doing either.

Did you swap out the motherboard without re-installing windows at any point?
HDD got DMA turned on?
HDD sharing a cable with a CDROM?

Has this just started happening, or always been like this?
Have you just replaced the graphics card without un-installing the old drivers?
If not, have you done anything else, hardware-wise or software-wise recently?

And they cheat!!! Their performance isn't real!!!! THEY JUST LIE IN THE BENCHMARKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I disable AA and AF on the control panel i get a score of 4587 in 3Dmark 2003. When I enable 4X AA and disable AF i get a score of 2768.
Is this normal or seems to be something totally wrong? DMA is on, cd is not on same cable as harddisk. Before this ATI RADEON9800 I had a GF4 MX440. I have totaly removed XP so all nvidia drivers were removed.

~4500 3DMarks sounds fine. AA and AF both have a pretty large impact on performance.

Don't tell me you think these guys getting 25000 3Dmark2001 scores are running with AA & AF?

What are your 2001SE scores with them both off?

Er... um... well, antialiassing and anistropic filtering aren't free, see?

The cost is a huge performance hit.

Otherwise, there wouldn't be an option to turn them on or off, they'd just be on all the time, you know?

I woundn't think so, I get a bit over 11,000 with my rig below and its stock.

btw, I used same resolution too.

It seems to me that there's an option on main screen to select high/low detail. I used low. I can't see on your test results what you used? I believe I ran it both ways and had a pretty good hit on my score when running w/high selected.

Sorry I can't be more specific, but I'm at the office and my rig is at home.

hey man your not the only one i've been getting bad scores as well *cries*

and guys if u want to be fanboyistic, do it right

OFCOURSE U GET LOW SCORES! you got a 9800pro here running 3Dmarks 2001 and 2003 we all know 3Dmarks run best on nVidia hardware, you know what? everything run best on nVidia hardware, for HL2 they put in a block in the programming so ONLY nVidia cards can't produce shaders correctly, damn Valve, they got bribe by ATi because ATi's got no other companies supporting them. FX5950Ultra owns 9800XT desprite what you see, all the hardware sites are bribed by ATi, and ATi is run by MOJO, there's no way they could beat nVidia i mean Forceware OWNS Catalyst, i mean who needs to update drivers monthly when u can do it YEARLY, i mean that's just so pro how nVidia's doing it~~
sigh~~ nVidia rules all and ATi sux

Are you drunken lately? Otherwise all i see in your post lately has been brutal ATi bashing without representing fact.

XP2000, R9700 & 512mb RAM gets me 11000-12000 so I would say yeah... if your P4 is a S423 core...

Trust me I know what I'm doing... ooops, grab the cat...

Those scores are right inline for your rig, you should never Benchmark with AA or AF on and expect good scores, always run the default settings and make sure AA and AF as well as VSYNC are disabled in the ATI control panel.

"I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints."

Also, if your so taken with your benchmark scores you need to OC that 9800np you got.

"I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints."

That's a fairly reasonable score, but the rest of your system is definitely holding your Gfx card back quite a bit. You should find any modern game runs fine though.

Don't worry too much about 3dMarks, they're only a rough estimate compared to 'the real world'. Just play whatever games you like, and if they run ok, then be happy!
