My FPS are always around 22 and some times they go down to 6. I am playing at the second lowest quality (the lowest give me even less FPS, LOL) . My system is:

Athlon II x3 425
HD 5770
2*2GB DDR2 800 MHz
1680*1050
My internet connection is a wireless G. Do you think that is limiting me?

I know it is not the best rig but those FPS are too low. One thing I'd like to mention is that at 22fps the game seems smooht to me. This is really weird.

It's not him, it's GW2. If you go to their beta forums, tons of people are complaining about poor performance. The game isn't optimized right now, using only 1 core of a CPU and like 30% usage of GPU. CrossfireX/SLI are also not supported.

On my PC, I can only get like 30fps on highest settings. My machine:
2500k@4.4GHz
8GB 1600mhz
GTX 680

So yeah, I'd say we need to give them time to optimize before the release.

I am already using the ethernet cable and still get those shity fps. It is weird that if I change resoslutions from 1680*1050 to 1024*768 I still get the same FPS. I agree with casualcolors, my cpu should be the problem. Can I ask what is your internet provider gary 1?

When you lower resolution and FPS remains unchanged, that is usually a key indication of CPU-bottlenecking.

actually that ping ist to bad if hes 250miles or more away from the server. your getting 7ms means your probably within 30 miles of a server exchange. even on cable my ping from newcastle to dorset is 17 ms and i have a 30mb line... and if you knew anything about mmo's you will know that they dont need the same kind of fast connection that fps shooters do... they will quite happily chug along on a 250 ping without lag even with a 256kb line... as most send between 4 and 16 packets per second they dont need huge bandwidth...

wireless will add about 3 ms to a typical ping but if some1 else is also using the net that can increase 100 times to 200-300.

as for the requirements you are pretty close to the minimum and thats more likely the reason for the low fps... i would say turn everything down to minimum and turn off any high end features. then turn up the texture settings as this will have a minimal impact on fps but will make the game look prettier.

yep your rite but in this case im thinking they have got the minimum requirments wrong as that card and that cpu are pretty evenly matched as far as bandwith go. even on single threaded apps there would be minimal chance of a bottleneck, just because the card isnt really that strong...
if he has decent cooling then maybe he can add a couple of hundred mhz to the cpu and that would normaly be enough to show if there is a bottleneck but like i say on that system in this instance, im doubting it...

my guess is its driver support thats lacking. try the latest 12.4 drivers and see if they help if not try the 12.2 beta performance driver . you can still find em on guru3d

Right now I am using the latest 12.4 driver. I overclocked my cpu a little bit from 2.7 to 3.2(NB2400) but I see no difference when running it at 2.7 vs 3.2. I also oc my vid card from 850 to 960 Clock and memory up to 1395 mhz and no difference. Could it be a problem with the game? This is the first game I can't play with custom high-ultra settings with fps abobe 45.

This are great news!!!!!! If with that monster pc you are getting 30fps then it is definitely a problem with the game. I guess that if they optimized the game to use all 3 cores and the gpu I can run it with out problems.

Hey man, not everybody can buy a 2500k and a $500.00 graphic card. When I got that card it was the recommended card for $170.00 and that was all I could spend.
I hope you are not serious about using it for HTPC.

Once the game gets closer to release I would say you should be able to run it fine. MMO's are almost never demanding, since the companies want to appeal to a large fan base, typically the average joe with and average computer.

You should probably be able to play on medium-high settings I would guess.

And no, if you needed to have a system like mine to run the game, no one would buy it, seeing as very few people have machines this powerful.(don't mean to brag :( )
