Very Low res Hdtv as monitor

I have a hdtv hooked up to my laptop through a hdmi cable. It is a 21" 1920x1080 Hdtv and when i use it with my Xbox it runs perfect but when i hook it up to my laptop it looks like shit! (I do have intel graphics) <is it that? Would it be a faulty wire. The Tv appears as Generic Pnp Monitor...

right click on desktop, then go to screen resolution. Then adjust it to full from there.

It Already is at max... Even though it is at max it still looks like shit
