Very low sound from home theatre system while on tv mode.

Hello..
I am having sony s home theatre sydem which is giving very low sound when on tv-video.... but is giving correct sound on other modes...
I have to increase its volume to max then i can hear anything..
Pls help

Depending on how you have the Sony connected to the TV the TV volume might affect how high an input the Sony gets. Assuming you have the TV speakers off turn the TV volume up. If the TV volume is too high you will hear distortion regardless of the volume of the Sony. This tells you that you are overloading the input of the Sony.

my television is connected through audio cable and i have selected audio system in the settings of my televison where it asks to select the speakers..by doing so the tv volume is always removed and the audio comes from the home theatre..
