[SOLVED] very low TDP when stress testing 8086k

so ive been overclocking my 8086K at 5.1ghz at 1.35v, offset 2, everything is stable and smooth no throttling anywhere, temps in the 70s and low 80s, but i cant work out why my tdp is only around 4W, anyone have any suggestions?

Power measurement is calculated from microcode. Your BIOS update no doubt contained new microcode, which very likely also included patches for Spectre / Meltdown. So as is all too common, one problem is fixed at the expense of introducing another. You can cross-check with Hardware Info or Core Temp just to confirm Hardware Monitor, but I doubt you'll see anything different.

Its more than 4 watts. I promise you. Software does a real lousy job of measuring wattage. The best way is to measure the watts from the wall. You will need a watt meter for that. It is not really necessary for your setup. Your 8086k is pushing well over 95 watts under load even at stock configuration.

That's what I thought, I had it over clocked before updating my bios earlier today and everything was fine, tdp was reading as it should, once I updated my bios and applied my overclock again, the tdp was reading 4
