I recently upgraded my gaming rig with a new GPU, because my old was awful for gaming. So i bought a new power supply, because my previous one was only 450W, and my new GPU needs a minimum of 750W.
So i bought a Second-hand PSU, the Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro1000W PSU (the chrome exterior).

So i found out that my PSU is the thing that makes a lot of noise, even at idle.
Can i fix this by just replacing the fan? Or buying a new one?
Thanks in advance :).

Specs:

i7 4770k not overclocked cpu
Corsair Air 540 case
8gb ram

sapphire radeon r9 290 vapor-x

If you can I would advise you to get a refund then buy from another brand or a different model. But this could be a PSU problem so check the manufactures website to see if they can help you other wise try to get your money back

I would recommend a Corsair branded one

If 750w is your minimum then get a : CORSAIR HXi HX850i CP-9020073-NA 850W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Power Supply ( $159.99 ) I always use Newegg

Hi Privilege, as i said i''ve bought it second hand, so a refund is no option, i just hope there is a solution.
If theres no solution, Corsair is indeed a great option.

Hi Robert Ban, there IS dust in it, i want to clean it soon.
I don't exactly know how old it is TBH.
It has been out since 2009 but i dunno when the previous owner bought it.
It doesn't make any electronical or crackling noises, just a normal 'air moving'' sound.
But in a REALLY loud way. I can even hear it when the case is closed and when listening to music with my headset on...

Sorry for bad English understoodment from me.
Fan can spin for a reason soo fast. It's orginally like that, or because heat which cant be.
You can replace the fan which can be painfully(i've been oppening PSU's for like 3 years and thats pretty hard to get it right when you are trying to screw the bolt back).

I would replace fan on my , but i dont know if you are agreeing with me.And if you are willing to open 1'st ALWAYS touch the case of psu cause it can shock you, then when you oppened totally see what pins is using fan and buy it from amazon or ebay whatever you like.If the fan is connected directly to plate (same as motherboard dont know now cant remember) you cannot change it.

Update: If you are too scared to do that, then don't.Cause im electric technician.

Thanks for the help, i''ll dust it out soon, and see if that helps.
If that doesn''t help, i''ll replace the current fan.
If that doesn''t work, it's dead.
