Hello!
I am using a Debian machine for NAS on my home network. I was thinking of sending files over SFTP or FTP from my desktop. After setting it up I am getting 50-60 kib/s transfer speed from my windows machine. I tried transfering files from my android phone via wifi to the NAS and I am getting 2-3 MB/s transfer.
From further tests I realised that any traffic from my desktop to any device in my home is limited to around 60 kb/s. I am using dual-band wifi (TL-WDN4800) to connect my desktop to the rest of the network and the server is wired. The connection is set to use .11n. The desktop downloads files from the internet at normal speeds.
I have also noticed that the SFTP/FTP file transfers have 2 "speeds". Most of the time they initially reach 30 kb/s and after 2-3 seconds the speed doubles to 60 kb/s.
This is driving me nuts, please help!
