Very slow transfer speeds

My hard drive seems to have very low transfer speeds, and I don't know why. Certain programs such as steam can download at 500kbps and seem to be able to retain data with their destination set as that drive, however, copying off that drive to usb or network slows to <100kbps during any file copy, whether bulk small files, or large single files. I have two drives, and this is my large, side storage drive, and seems to be in good health according to a disk info utility I have. What do.

use USB3 and not USB2 . it seems you are using USB2. as for the network it seems you have 10/100 LAN .

Hey there, Liam.

The first thing you should always do when there's any indication that there might be a problem with your drive, is to backup any important data which you might have on it. It's good that you've run a diagnostics tool. Try running an extended test as well (if you haven't done so already), because it sounds like you've performed a quick test and this is the SMART data. Issues like that might be due to faulty SATA cables or port, so try it with a different computer, to see if the same thing happens, or at least with a different SATA port and cables on yours. It wouldn't hurt to check the destination drive as well, just to make sure that everything's OK with it.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how everything goes.
