Hello guys,
After having a horrible experience with 2 IPS panels (I couldn't get over the IPS glow) I decided to go back to a TN panel and just bought this AOC AGON AG271QX.
It's a 27" 2560x1440@144Hz monitor with a TN panel. No dead pixels, no back-light bleeding or ghosting. So far so good.
But there is a very specific problem/artifacting I just can't get used to. I will shortly try to describe it to the best of my abilities, because after 2 days of searching online, I could never find anyone else reporting this type of issue. I just want to know if anyone has had a similar problem and if there is a solution at all.
If there is a still image on it looks prefect. But when the monitor is displaying any type of moving images, especially moving up or down - it could be in games, watching videos, or just scrolling up and down a page with photos for example, I could see the vertical lines of pixels the image consist of, in a way it looks somewhat similar to the image below, but much more subtle, not so exaggerated.
I tried different refresh rates, 60 Hz, 120 Hz, 144 Hz. I played for hours with every single option in the monitor settings menu. I even managed to find out how to pull up the hidden service menu, and played with every option there too. Nothing improved the situation.
I thought it could be the connection or the cable. The monitor is usually connected to my PC via DP cable. So I tried DVI and then HDMI - same results.
I then thought it was maybe caused by my GPU so I plugged the monitor to my wife's laptop and again - nothing changed, same problem.
When I spoke to my wife trying to explain her the problem and show her what I mean, she said she doesn't see any problems, but to me it's very obvious. I guess I've got a "more trained eye" or something.
I thought I could ignore it and not think about it but no matter what content I use - games, films, web surfing, as soon as there is a scrolling or moving up or down image displayed - I can still see it and it annoys me to no end.
Has anyone experienced such artifacts or has anyone heard of it? I'm desperate to know.
