Very Specific Problem

So, I recently updated to the Windows 10 : Creators Update and it jacked my computer pretty bad. I have a Dell Inspiron 15 7000, i5 CPU, GTX 1050, For other specs ask me.

I'm going to start from the top on everything that I did in attempting to fix my computer / everything that happened.

I updated my computer and it went through a pretty in depth sort of update where it was asking me to do things like, log in with a new name, create Microsoft account, it was like I had just factory reset my computer and it was just an update.
I finally finished all the update stuff and logged into my computer to find that it was running at a snails pace, it was barely running basic stuff like Firefox, YouTube, steam, discord etc. I looked to see if any of my Nvidia drivers were there, they were completely removed during the update. Of course the first thing that I did was go and get the drivers, I installed the drivers and tried to open up the Nvidia control panel, Control panel did not work saying something along the lines of "No Nvidia GPU on this display"

I had a Friend of mine who knows computers take a look at it, We uninstalled the Nvidia drivers, reset, Reinstalled, reset again, Went into my system BIOS and couldn't force the graphics card to be defaulted, Couldn't really even find anything related to my graphics card in my BIOS. We went into device manager and it showed that my graphics card was there and recognized by the computer but it wasnt defaulted to it, Instead it was defaulted to something called "Microsoft Basic Display Driver" Which I had found through looking at my display settings. We were unable to find and delete the Microsoft Basic Display Driver so that we could remove it and force my Graphics card as the main display driver.

As far as I know this is where it gets a bit specific and complicated, The day before the update I was hooked up to a friends TV Via HDMI cord, I had remembered that and just decided on a whim, after an hour or two of me and a bud trying to figure the problem out, I decided on a whim to hook up my laptop to a small HDMI TV and BOOM, I could open Nvidia control panel, AND I was now running in a dual monitor setup somehow, I have 0 idea how I got into a dual monitor setup but I was now running one. My main computer screen being the monitor and my TV that i was connected to. I launched TF2, that being one of the only games I had installed, TF2 had been my baseline, every time I would launch it the main menu of tf2 would be running at 5 frames or less, I figured since I had gone into my control panel for nvidia and defaulted it to run EVERYTHING off of my graphics card that it would fix the problem, It didn't.

I'm kind of at my wits end with this, If there is a simple fix to this I'm gonna feel really stupid but regardless I hope somebody out there can give me a hand with this, Ive been trying to figure out since yesterday and its just getting on my nerves at this point, I cant run any games on my computer at all. With my Nvidia drivers installed I can run youtube and other basic things but I cant actually do any gaming on it. Help please!!!

My bud told me to mention that, While unplugged from the HDMI cord to TV I am unable to open Nvidia Control Panel but while plugged into the HDMI to TV I can open Nvidia Control Panel just fine

Solution
The only way you'll run both the integrated and dedicated gpu simultaneously is if you have something like lucid logic like the z77 boards, or if you have one if the monitors plugged into a mobo port, nor both in the gpu.
Sounds like an update overwrote your graphics driver and generally messed things up. You can't remove the basic driver, it's a built-in Windows component. Go into settings, click apps, and remove EVERYTHING Nvidia related, then restart your computer. . Next, download the most up-to-date drivers available for the 1050 and install them. This will likely resolve the problem.

Should I install the Nvidia drivers manually or should I just run it through the GEFORCE Experience app?

Goto guru3d.com and download DDU, it's a graphics driver deleter. It'll take you through safe mode, but will remove everything nvidia, which windows delete will not. If you are happy using GE, then it's fine to use that to update the drivers. Just download GE first, save it to desktop since all the higher grade graphics will be gone, you'll have 800x600 VGA.

You'll also need to goto your mobo vendor website and download the latest audio and LAN drivers. Win10CE has issues with older, legacy drivers and date codes. It'll try to use newer, generic drivers which will cause all sorts of issues from lousy fps to bluescreens.

Me and my friend just figured something out about whats going on, to everyone reading the thread, My computer is running both my integrated graphics and my nvidia graphics card in unison, I cannot open the BIOS to default to one or the other, I plugged my laptop into the HDMI and am running my computer 200% smoothly on TF2, MY game is running at like 90 frames and running perfectly, I'm a bit new to the website so I dont know if this sends something out to yall, but its something to do with the dual moniter part, My laptop isnt a dual moniter setup
