OK. I am going to describe the situation very clearly.

About 10 months ago I had a 4TB WD internal hard drive which worked perfectly until I felt a sudden shock as I plug it into the SATA or power cable (I forget). Immediately after that, it took forever for the drive to show up in my computer and there was strange clicking noise coming from the drive.

I tried a lot of times and I lost all the hope because no files showed up.

I put the drive away, and now after 10 months, today I tried to plug it back, all files show up !!! I am now trying my best to back up the critical files first to another hard drive. I don't know when it's going to fail again. However, there is almost 3TB of files and possible 500GB I 'll want to back up.

Is there any tips for me currently? and what's the problem actually can you guess??

To diagnose that problem you'd need to contact a data recovery specialist. Right now what you need to do though is back up that 500GB of data, if it fails a last ditch effort could be to place the drive in a plastic bag and freeze it in a freezer, then quickly attach it to a computer you don't necessarily care about possibly frying to transfer the remaining data.

A bad drive would possibly fry a computer? Who you are going to cheat?
