Hello I am thinking of building a pretty solid gaming pc for maybe 400 dollars at most? I already have a 650ti gpu. But I still need a processor, Mobo, PSU, and RAM and I can get a cheap case. But anyone have any suggestions on what to get? Thanks!

Solution
your most welcome. have fun building your new machine. Oh one last thing I did not mention is the FX CPU is overclockable also as long as you get an after market cooler. Added performance when you can afford it.

Oh crap, I got this PC from best buy and it was pre-built by Lenovo.. So it's an OEM, correct?

Ohh wow YES and NO. The HDD will work BUT the OS will not work as it is an OEM manufacturer edition. Unless you bought the OS yourself. Did you purchase the OS separately? this will Kill the builds I have been working on if you need the OS.

EDIT I canme up with one for 405 with 25 in mail in rebates that will smoke the what has been posted but I need to know about the OS before I post it.

@tsmash5 he wanted a full tower case and you offerd a mid tower case. The price of a full tower will put you in my range of price and the AMD FX-6300 will eat any A-10 alive in performance.

Well I do have a windows 8 disc I bought from the store, but it has already been used. Does that matter?

yes in aspect to the OS it does matter that it is used already. It can be transferred But that machine will be without an OS.

the build mentioned is not exactly what you wanted and since we need to ad in an OS now that one and the one I put together is out. the need of an OS will Kill this build totally. you will end up with a really bad CPU, cheap motherboard, maybe even really cheep ram.

Some simple deals on Slickdeals.net. I would suggest a i5, then swap the PSU (systems don't come with more then 300W normally which isn't enough for the 650ti) and add your GPU and you be set. But your going to have add more to that budget to do it. You will in the year need to replace the 650ti as it is a low end performing card anyway. So honestly you might just want to forgo any of this and just go Console, as a PS3/Xbox 3650 is under $200, can play any game currently. Also Consoles last 10 years were as that would be TWO FULL PC system swaps because the code is optimized for Consoles not for PCs and newer games / hardware isn't compatible with 5 year old system components.

Good build, but I dont need a 620W PSU. Maybe to save some money to get a 550-600W, since the gpu needs 400W minimum. So 620W is a bit too much IMO. Maybe something a a bit cheaper and lower wattage? But still 80 plus bronze. Thanks!
