Question Very weird "solution" to my coil whine sound around CPU, please help..

Hi,

My specs:

i7 9700k
RTX 2080 Gigabyte gaming oc
Aorus Z390 Master Mobo
NZXT Kraken X52 cooler

Something very weird happens: i get a high / coil whine / squeeking-scratching noise coming from the CPU area. I just did a CPU swap, and leaked a tiny bit thermal paste on the mobo/ and one of the conductors next to the CPU, so I was afraid if that caused it. Ofcourse I wiped it clean, but...

But the strange thing: in the BIOS I don't hear it, only in windows and when I start to stress the CPU, for example during a stress test (Aida 64 in this case), the sound ALSO dissapears immediately?!

Could that mean it definitely isn't the mobo, but the Kraken X52 what I believe myself?

I hope someone understands this and know what it could be..

Coil whine is actually a normal phenomenon that occurs in electronics. And only gets stronger when you put high amounts of load on a chip, but typically it's a GPU problem never a CPU one.

I bet whatever motherboard makers do to sound deaden the coil whine got messed up or something.

Ok... it cant be a Little rest of thermalpaste on one of the capasitors that I whiped clean for i guess 95% of the capasitor...?

Schutting down the C states in the bios seem to kind of shut iT up by the way... does that make sense?

PS: the thermal paste is Arctic mx4, which should be nonconductive
